Cake Architecture has designed the interiors of the WatchHouse Millennium Bridge in London, United Kingdom.

From WatchHouse Millennium Bridge, the Thames is both backdrop and reference point.

"Our design draws on the contrast between the permanence of London’s landmarks and the movement of water, light and people along the embankment," said Cake.

Architectural cues from St Paul's Cathedral, Tate Modern and the river's industrial heritage shape the House's spatial language, materiality and detailing.

Warm cherry timber, reflective metals and a two-tone concrete floor create a layered, tactile interior that shifts throughout the day as natural light moves through the space, grounding the house in its immediate context – while giving it a distinct identity of its own.
