Susan T Rodriguez Architecture has designed The Davis Center at the Harlem Meer in New York City, United States.
Located at the intersection of history, landscape, recreation and the city, Central Park's Davis Center transforms eight acres of the park with a bold geometric sweep of reimagined landscape to create a new recreational experience.
Accessible to the public year-round – a pool in summer, rink in winter and green in spring and fall – the design replaces a deteriorated 1960s facility and restores the connection between the rest of the park for the Harlem community.
An accessible green roof envelopes the entire building with a light-filled interior gathering space below that opens onto a monumental outdoor room for recreation.
