Marvel has created a vibrant facility to build a connected community in New York City.

The Northeast Bronx YMCA addresses the critical need for recreational space, fulfilling a 30-year dream of the community for a multigenerational community centre and hub.

Set on a wooded three-acre site, the building program is organised into three separate pavilions placed gently on the site, preserving existing mature trees and respecting the natural sloped topography. The open arrangement conveys a sense of openness and transparency, welcoming newcomers in a warm embrace.

The project includes two swimming pools, a gymnasium, wellness centre, teaching kitchen, group exercise studios and community rooms, as well as a rooftop garden.

This project has been longlisted in the civic building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
