Located in West London, Humble Pizza cafe references the staple of British vernacular post-war architecture and emulates the workmen's cafes, which first appeared in London's West End in the 1950s.
The cafe, which can be found in London's affluent Chelsea neighbourhood, boasts a menu of exclusively plant-based pizzas.
The interior features wall-to-wall pink Formica, which continues along counter fronts and across tables tops. The rhythmic pattern is highlighted with cherry wood, framing each laminate panel. Child Studio worked with Formica factory to recreate the original ‘linen’ pattern design popular in the 1970s, opting for a suitably ‘Millennial pink’ shade.
The pink colours also extend to the front facade of the cafe, which was stripped back to reveal the original timber panelling and ironwork.
