Jiangyin Greenway
by Brearley Architects + Urbanists

Pavel Shubskiy

Jiangyin Greenway has been designed to promote healthy and sustainable transportation and urban enjoyment in China.

The project demonstrates that large-scale infrastructure has the potential and the responsibility to create meaningful places in the urban environment.

The Jiangyin Greenway is a 6km segment of a bicycle and pedestrian path that weaves through the city's park network. The greenway provides uninterrupted pedestrian access by bridging over seven roads.

The studio expanded the brief by utilising the height of the path to include playgrounds, amphitheatres, elevated plazas, arbors and pavilions.

This project has been longlisted in the landscape project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
