Samuel Wilkinson has combined steam-bent wood with Vienna straw to create a contemporary dining chair series.

The aim was to create a timeless signature chair with a modern edge, using elements that characterise the classic bistro chair of the mid-19th century.

The centrepiece of the collection has a slender, lightweight frame made from steam-bent ash, while the seat and backrest are made from Vienna straw.

This project has been longlisted in the seating design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
