ARCity Office has redesigned a two-storey industrial building at Qiaotou Village, Shenzhen.

The studio has designed the building with two concepts: reductive construction and reverse design to recreate the ruin.

By partially removing floors, roofs, walls and the ground, the structural frame was retained. Afterwards, flower ponds and plants were placed on the frame to create a sky garden.

This project has been longlisted in the rebirth project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
