LUO Studio has designed a recyclable shed to house a temporary marketplace in Puyang City, China.
The studio needed to complete a rapid construction process with a low budget. Since the market needed to be temporary, the designers decided to make it sustainable and recyclable.
Drawing on designs for industrial sheds and greenhouses, the structure is built with prefabricated and modular components that can be freely assembled and replaced.
The bolted construction and the column structures form signage panels.
The entrance canopy takes on a rectangular pyramid structure, constructed based on the relationship between the horizontal and vertical modular units.
This project has been longlisted in the business building category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
