MAD has designed a 13-storey residential building in Paris, which features sinuous balconies that offer panoramic views of the city.
UNIC emerges out of Clichy-Batignolles, a new mixed-use masterplan in Paris' seventeenth arrondissement, adjacent to the 10-hectare Martin Luther King Park.
Defying the city's typical Hausmann apartment blocks, the design extends nature upwards into the architecture through curving, tapering floor plates, forming expansive outdoor living spaces for residents.
Sharing its podium with affordable housing, priority has been focused on bringing equality and providing the same standards of living across various social classes; breaking down the physical and symbolic barriers that often segregate and hinder the growth of our global cities.
This project has been longlisted in the housing project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
