What is Radical Today?
by How About Studio

Agnese Sanvito

How About Studio designed an exhibition space for the Royal Academy of Arts' "What is Radical Today? 40 Positions on Architecture" exhibition.

The Royal Academy of Arts gathered visions from 40 emerging and established architects, artists and thinkers about what is radical in architecture today. How About Studio and EACH London engaged this same question in displaying the A3 submissions - designing a space that was propositional and in flux.

Inspired by collage grids of Italian designers Superstudio, they adapted structural boards which were deployed as new surfaces to mediate, disrupt and extend the regency ornament of the architecture studio.

This orthogonal canvas extended beyond the exhibition space, forming tables, seats and walls that collectively framed the selected works.

This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
