AISA-Free Studio has created a rural residence for a family of four in China's Shandong province.
The design will meet the needs of modern life and combine the traditional expression of architecture as a starting point. The rural residence area will be transformed into a four-family living area around the main courtyard.
The courtyard is a place for the residents to talk and have tea, and the public area is for public services and indoor gatherings. Walls and roofs are constructed with local stone, so that the buildings show the integrity and public property of regional characteristics.
Yinan Persimmon Restore is located in Yinan, Shandong province, which is adjacent to Yimeng old red zone.
This project has been longlisted in the housing project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
