Zalue Bamboo Basket Stool
by Vegahouse

Yasuki Tsukamoto

Vegahouse has created a light but strong stool that uses the technique of "knitting" with bamboo.

The design started from the desire to make beautiful chairs that can be used outside and that change with age in our daily lives.

The material is bamboo, which has been familiar to Japanese culture since ancient times. The area where the designers resides, in Kagoshima, has the largest bamboo forest area in Japan, which inspired the studio to investigate the material.

This project has been longlisted in the furniture design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
