Chalet W
by Case-Real

Daisuke Shima

Chalet W by Case-Real is a chalet for snowboarders who regularly stay in Japan.

Based on the snowfall, the client's request, and the site environment, we planned a volume that combines a flat roof and a sloping roof. For the selection of materials, we were conscious of the surrounding birch trees and the snowy landscape. The idea was to create an architecture whose very existence would fit in with the landscape.

This project has been longlisted in the rural house category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
