Loata Debra Ho is a feminist researcher and founder of architecture practice WomenBuild.
WomenBuild aims to engage women in the construction of safe homes for families in need of affordable housing.
Ho is of mixed iTaukei and Chinese heritage and is Fiji's only architecturally trained Indigenous woman.
Ho works alongside Indigenous Fijian women in her project development to ensure her work benefits them. The A I Tatadra project for the women of Cakaudrove province won an international Good Design Award and has represented the Pacific region at the Venice Biennale.
Ho has worked as an in-country coordinator for Architects Without Frontiers, a company aimed at improving the built environment for communities in need and for award-winning commercial practices in Brisbane and Sydney. She is currently completing her postgraduate studies in Divinity at the Sydney Missionary and Bible College.
