Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2023 emerging architect of the year, Niger architect Mariam Issoufou Kamara of Atelier Masōmī.

Kamara is the founder of Atelier Masōmī, a multi-disciplinary architecture practise working on public, cultural, residential, commercial and urban design projects. The studio uses innovative methods to provide a better quality of life to local communities.

Recent projects by Atelier Masōmī include a converted mosque into a library and community centre in Dandaji and a colourful market using recycled-metal canopies to attract vendors in Niger.

Atelier Masōmī has been shortlisted in the emerging architect of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
