V Taller has designed Babel, a hospitality and residential project that blends sustainable architecture with natural regeneration through a reinterpretation of the Tower of Babel in Tulum, Mexico.
Babel is a hospitality and residential project in Tulum that proposes a sustainable and socially conscious model for tourism development.
Built on previously altered land, this project prioritises environmental regeneration through the recovery of native vegetation and minimal land occupation.
Babel's 59 units are arranged around a central void and connected by vertical circulation, fostering community interaction and preserving open ground for reforestation.
Inspired by the Tower of Babel, the architectural concept integrates arches and natural materials to promote introspection and climatic comfort, encouraging a more sensitive relationship between people, architecture and the natural environment.
This project has been longlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
