Studio Unvernunft has designed the interiors of the Feuer & Flamme Holiday Home, a former fire station, in Jena, Germany.

The interior design of this project is based on the idea of a stage for all kinds of activities, characterised by a large piece of furniture inspired by Japanese woodblock prints and the two skylights, reminiscent of the former chimney flues of the fire station.

The entire interior is duplicated to match the two skylights – from the bright red tables to the mobile stoves, which can be arranged like Japanese chariots for cooking competitions.

In addition, all the furniture, lighting and curtains were specially designed for the Feuer & Flamme Holiday Home.

This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short stay interior category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
