Hassell has designed the First Building, a cutting-edge manufacturing facility housing stage one of the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF), an innovation accelerator in Bradfield City, Sydney, Australia.

As the first completed building in Bradfield City Centre, Australia’s newest city in 100 years, First Building marks the start of a new industry-led ecosystem, offering advanced technology, expertise, training and networks to help manufacturing businesses grow.

Housing stage one of the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF), it is designed with adaptability, circularity and resilience, and sets a new benchmark for how cities can be regenerative and integrate with Country.

An exemplar of circular design principles, the building's flexible, modular system allows for disassembly, expansion, or relocation, ensuring resilience to the evolving needs of the city.

This project has been longlisted in the workplace project (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
