Krume Bäcker is a neighbourhood bakery and café in Panama City, rooted in reflecting simplicity, craft and low-impact construction.

Designed by Mallol, the space integrates traditional materials like compacted earth and reclaimed hardwoods, locally sourced and crafted in collaboration with Panamanian artisans.

This project reflects Krume's Austrian-Panamanian identity through a warm and minimal interior that values restraint over excess and long-term performance over trends.

Sustainability guided every choice, resulting in a replicable model for responsible, culturally attuned design in Latin America.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable interior category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
