K-Studio and Tombazis Architects have designed the Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino, a resort that blurs the lines between natural and man-made landscape in Costa Navarino, Pylos, Greece.

Perched above Navarino Bay, Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino is a landscape-led resort rooted in Messinia's agrarian heritage.

Inspired by traditional Mandria enclosures, its serpentine stone walls follow the natural topography, embedding the architecture into the hills and rising at points to create spectacular spatial moments.

With 99 rooms, including 48 villas with private pools, the resort forms a hybrid terrain where architecture and nature coexist. The design prioritises sustainability through passive strategies, local materials and adaptable operation.

The result is a resort that feels more like a landscape than a building, bridging the vastness of the land with human-scale intimacy.

This project has been longlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
