Feix & Merlin and General Projects have redesigned the Walworth Town Hall in partnership with Southwark Council, a bold retrofit of a Grade II-listed fire-damaged building in London, England.
Feix & Merlin with General Projects, in partnership with Southwark, have completed a stunning refurbishment of Walworth Town Hall.
The Grade II-listed landmark was damaged by fire in 2013, leading to Historic England placing it on its 'Heritage at Risk' register.
As a result, Walworth Town Hall has been sensitively transformed into a dynamic new workspace and community hub.
New public spaces include a cafe, restaurant and community centre, as well as over 550 new workspaces that offer a mix of flexible offices and coworking desks.
The design focuses on the dialogue between old and new, preserving elements of the building's history while ensuring its future relevance.
This project has been longlisted in the workplace project (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
