REDO Architects has designed the Bairro Padre Cruz Market Hall in Lisbon, Portugal.

This project is located on the outskirts of Lisbon in Bairro Padre Cruz, one of the largest social housing neighbourhoods on the Iberian Peninsula.

The market originated from a former dairy farmhouse converted into a market hall in 1962, becoming a longstanding community hub.

The renovation has transformed the existing building by restoring its main hall and introducing an overarching timber roof that unifies and extends the programme.

Through new spaces for commerce, culture and social exchange, the Bairro Padre Cruz Market Hall reconnects the market with public life.
