BuroLandschap has designed Cycling Between Terrils in Limburg, Belgium.

Cycling between Terrils is a 400-metre floating bicycle bridge in Limburg, connecting two former mining municipalities across a reclaimed extraction lake between historic terrils.

Inspired by the Golden Section, the bridge follows a gentle, organic curve that slows cyclists and enhances the experience of the surrounding landscape.

Composed of 30 hinged pontoon elements, it adapts to fluctuating water levels while ensuring stability and comfort.

More than a functional crossing, this project transforms an industrial past into a contemporary leisure landscape, reinforcing the region's identity as a leading cycling destination.
