C Cúbica Arquitectos has designed the Exteña Conversational Sofa.

This conversational sofa celebrates Mexican craftsmanship through a seven-month collaboration designed by C Cúbica Arquitectos, in collaboration with Raúl López de la Cerda and woven by 21 artisans from Teotitlán del Valle, led by Josefina Ruiz.

Conceived as a continuous circular form that encourages gathering and exchange, the piece merges contemporary design with weaving traditions.

Exteña's geometric textile, created on traditional pedal looms, was naturally dyed in indigo through a community-wide process rooted in Oaxacan heritage.

Every stage, from dyeing and weaving to upholstery and construction by master craftspeople, was entirely handcrafted, transforming knowledge, cultural memory and mastery into an object.
