JAAS has transformed Sallarès Deu in Barcelona, Spain.

Sallarès Deu transforms a former textile factory in Sabadell through adaptive reuse, converting an obsolete industrial complex into a civic campus for education, entrepreneurship and social support.

This project restores the original courtyards and introduces greenhouse-like bioclimatic atriums that regulate temperature naturally and reduce energy consumption throughout the year.

Reversible timber structures allow future adaptation while preserving the material integrity of the existing buildings.

By prioritising reuse over demolition, passive environmental strategies and low-impact construction systems, the intervention significantly reduces the Sallarès Deu's carbon footprint and proposes a resilient model for the sustainable transformation of industrial heritage.
