Founded by Belgium and Dutch architects Wendy Saunders and Vicent de Graaf in 2005, AIM pairs context to concept and explores the fine line between vision and practicality with a built-in love of materials and passion for place and purpose.

Recent projects include a series of Harmay retail across China, and Studio 9 showroom in Shanghai.

Judges comments: "This Shanghai-based studio has shown its versatility across all typologies, but most notably in a wide variety of impressive retail projects. Its work is bold and emotive, while always respecting the local environment."
