Winner: Lighting design of the year 2023. Uncertain Lab has designed and developed Yuhui with independent lighting brand, Bias.

"The starting point of Yuhui's design is about the feeling of time," said Uncertain Lab.

"The programme-controlled light that travels through the quartz pillars appears intermittently like the afterglow of sunrise and sunset, just like the fleetingness of all beautiful things and like the cycle of life."

The designers hoped that the temporary beauty created by the lamp could become an element that could be placed in spaces and life scenes.

The lamp as a whole is composed of a fine-textured metal plate and a flowing and colour-changing halo.

As a result, the changing light and shadow and exposed micro-lamp beads form a new discussion around electronic items.
