Watch Rafael Viñoly's keynote presentation live from World Architecture Festival 2017

Architect Rafael Viñoly discusses the concept of performance in architecture in the opening keynote seminar at World Architecture Festival 2017 in Berlin.

The livestream has now ended, but you can still watch the talk in full above or on Dezeen's Facebook page.

Viñoly, the architect behind the controversial 432 Park Avenue apartment building in New York, talks how the concept of performance applies to his work, in projects ranging from his scheme for the Tokyo International Forum to a temporary mobile performance space he is designing for Berlin.

Dezeen is media partner for World Architecture Festival 2017, which this year takes place in Berlin in conjunction with the Inside festival of interior design.

We will be broadcasting a number of talks and seminars over the next few days from both events – including talks by Francis Kéré and Pierre de Meuron – as well as conducting video interviews with the winners.

World Architecture Festival takes place from 15-17 November 2017 at Arena Berlin. Take a look at the full programme.
