Watch Diébédo Francis Kéré's lecture at World Architecture Festival 2017
Diébédo Francis Kéré, designer of this year's Serpentine Pavilion, took to the main stage at World Architecture Festival 2017.
Originally from Burkina Faso, Kéré trained as an architect at the Technische Universität in Berlin where he has since set up his practice Kéré Architecture, and built a reputation on his socially driven and sustainable approach to architecture.
Kéré has completed several notable projects including a primary school in his home village of Gando and the rebuild of Burkina Faso’s parliament building following the 2014 revolution.
Most recently Kéré was the 17th architect to be commissioned for the annual pavilion at the Serpentine Gallery in London’s Kensington Gardens.
Dezeen was media partner for World Architecture Festival 2017, which this year took place in Berlin in conjunction with the Inside festival of interior design.
We broadcasted a number of the keynote seminars from both events – including talks by Pierre de Meuron and Will Alsop – as well as conducted interviews with the winners.
