White Fromme outdoor collection by Tom Chung for Petite Friture in a garden

White Fromme furniture collection by Tom Chung for Petite Friture

Dezeen Showroom: French design brand Petite Friture has introduced a clean white colourway to its Fromme furniture collection, conceived by Canadian industrial designer Tom Chung based on the comfortable ergonomics of a racing bike.

Originally launched in 2020, the Fromme collection quickly grew from a single cafe chair to encompass a range of indoor-outdoor furniture, including two recently added tables and three seats.

The designs are made from hardwearing aluminium with streamlined curves and the chairs feature shock absorbers placed under the seat to provide comfort.

"This design was inspired by the personal story of Tom Chung," Petite Friture said. "An experienced cyclist, he used to climb Fromme Mountain outside of Vancouver and was fascinated by the technical performance of his bike."

The collection is available in six colourways, including blue, black, mint green, coral, brown red and the newly added white, for a clean minimalist look.

Fromme is Chung's first collection designed for Petite Friture since launching his own studio in Toronto in 2016.
