National Museum of the Democratic Republic of Congo
by Junglim Architecture

KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency)

National Museum of the Democratic Republic of Congo has been created to preserve national heritage and promote its values.

It is a facility that integrates the past, present and future by providing a symbolic structure with cultural and educational purposes in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where historical and cultural contents are desperately lacking.

NMDRC is expected to become not only the centre of education, but also a base for global collection, preservation, recovery, and research of relics that are highly worth preserving.

Beyond a simple structure, it will become a modern museum that exposes its identity as a national landmark, providing a spiritual integration and vision of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This project has been longlisted in the cultural building category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
