Koffi Diabaté Architectes has restored the Maison de l'Art de Grand-Bassam in Côte d'Ivoire.

This restoration project of the former Post and Customs building in Grand-Bassam transforms a deteriorated colonial structure into the Maison de l’Art, a new museum dedicated to contemporary African art, supported by a public-private partnership.

Located in Côte d’Ivoire’s first capital and a Unesco heritage town, this project seeks to restore the architectural integrity of a significant heritage building while adapting it for contemporary use.

Through historical research and the revival of original tropical bioclimatic principles, the intervention aims to become a model for heritage restoration in Côte d'Ivoire and a symbol of renewed value given to the country's architectural history.
