Stefano Boeri is an architect, urban planner and full-time professor at Politecnico di Milano.

In Shanghai, Boeri is the director of the Future City Lab at Tongji University: a post-doctoral research program that explores the future of the contemporary metropolis under the perspectives of biodiversity and urban forestry.

His work ranges from the design of architecture and urban visions to product design, with a constant focus on the geopolitical and environmental implications of urban phenomena.

In 2014, Boeri unveiled the Bos Verticale, a model for green architecture and the first residential building to host 800 trees and 20,000 plants. 

Boeri is among the main players in the debate on climate change in architecture. In 2018, he was co-chair of the Scientific Committee for the First World Forum on Urban Forests, working together with the Food and Agricultural Organisation.

In 2018 he was appointed President of Triennale Milano. Since 2020, Boeri is the President of the Scientific Committee of Forestami, the project aimed at planting 3 million trees in the metropolitan area of Milan by 2030.
