Sophie Sellu
London-based artist and woodworker Sophie Sellu is the founder of Grain and Knot.
Since founding her practice in 2013, Sellu has created hand-carved and environmentally responsible objects for the home using reclaimed, storm-fallen or sustainably sourced timber.
She uses traditional hand tools and techniques combined with modern design sensibilities to create tactile pieces. Her designs feature free-form shapes, organic textures and intricate details inspired by the storm-fallen timber from which it is made.
