MAD Architects' first social housing is a development near Beijing's Central Business District.

The development comprises a network of 12 residential buildings housing 4,000 apartments, interconnected by elevated walkways and park spaces.

To enhance the spaciousness within modest social housing units, MAD incorporated extensive green areas.

The studio's aspiration is for the Baiziwan project to contribute to the enrichment of diversity in China's housing design landscape.

This project has been longlisted in the mixed-use project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
