AMAA has designed the new Caffè Nazionale in Arzignano, Italy.

Through the colonnade of the 19th-century City Hall, the public space of the square merges with the new Caffè Nazionale.

The main hall, a mosaic of memory fragments and spatial devices, opens to the quiet courtyard.

Caffè Nazionale's design orchestrates a sequence of spaces, reminiscent of theatrical stages, establishing a visual dialogue between the square, the colonnade and the interior hall.

The contrast between restored historical features and new interventions defines this project, as do the deliberately unfinished parts that suspend the temporality of construction.
