Musashino Art University Building No.16
by Jo Nagasaka / Schemata Architects

Kenta Hasegawa

Jo Nagasaka/Schemata Architects has redesigned Musashino Art University Building No.16 in Japan.
The theme of this project is semi-architecture, or unfinished architecture.

Because it is unfinished, this space will always require modifications or change by its users after its completion. By doing so, I thought that the school building could continue to be a place where students and teachers who create art here can stay close to their ideas and change them, rather than existing as something that restricts their ideas.

This project has been longlisted in the civic building category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
