Approach Design has designed the reconstruction of the former Beijing TuanHe Police Station into the TMT Folding Park in Beijing, China.

This project is an exploration of imagination and humanistic care in the background of urban renewal in China.

Architects Approach Design creatively turned the previously neglected "site red line" into a "folding park" shared by everyone – thus turning an office building originally closed to citizens into a micro-community open to citizens and embracing a variety of life possibilities, releasing the public value and urban contribution beyond the building itself.

Going forward, this strategy can be emulated throughout the city to bring more public space to everyone and greatly improve the quality of daily urban life in Beijing.

This project has been shortlisted in the rebirth project category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
