Levs Architecten, in collaboration with Boom Landscape, has designed Root in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
Root is a residential project in Eindhoven, a U-shaped wooden-frame structure that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding forest.
By preserving 80 per cent of existing trees, Root offers an urban treehouse experience, with its climate-adaptive, nature-inclusive design featuring curved living galleries and spacious balconies.
Utilising traditional materials with extensive use of wood for external structural components, cladding, and interior walls, Root reduces its carbon footprint by up to 40 per cent.
This project enhances biodiversity, strengthens the local green infrastructure and provides a harmonious living environment, connecting residents with nature and the urban fabric.
