Datecrete Studio and Lab FZC have designed Datecrete.

Datecrete is a patent-pending, cement-free, resin- and petrochemical-free architectural material made from waste date pits intercepted from the food industry, combined with an innovative binder system and transformed into tiles, cladding, furniture and architectural objects.

This project's focus is not only to substitute one material for another, but to demonstrate how local agricultural waste can become part of a serious architectural material language.

Developed in the UAE, Datecrete rethinks an abundant regional byproduct in the MENA region as a high-value building material.

As a result, Datecrete can be produced as floor and wall tiles, cladding, furniture, lighting elements and smaller design objects.
