2009 review: April

Next up in our review of the year are Dezeen's most popular stories from April. In pole position is Herzog & de Meuron’s extension to the Tate Modern art gallery in London.

In second place was the concrete A House residence by Dublin by architects FLK.

Third most viewed was our story showing images of the completed New Acropolis Museum in Athens, Greece, designed by Bernard Tschumi Architects.

Fourth most popular was the design for this year’s Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London, revealed by Japanese architects SANAA. See photographs of the completed pavilion, which opened in June, here.

Our story showing a selection of projects by architect Peter Zumthor, who was named 2009 Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate in April, was our fifth most viewed post that month.

Did anyone else notice that the Tate Modern Tower in the back has been “stretched”?
I guess it would lose its importance to the new building if they had done it in a realistic way…
