2009 review: December

To conclude our review of the last year, here are the five most read stories from Dezeen in December 2009, starting with our roundup of the top ten Dubai projects.

Our second most popular story in December was Urban Forest, a skyscraper with gardens at each level designed by Beijing architects MAD for Chongqing in China.

The vaulted steel and glass Liège-Guillemins station by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava was in third place.

In fourth position was The Tote, a banqueting hall that has a structure like an avenue of trees in Mumbai, designed by Serie Architects.

Finally, at number five was Sumaré House, created for a graphic designer in São Paulo by Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld.
