Tosin Oshinowo and India Mahdavi are among judges to decide Dezeen Awards 2022 winners

Nineteen leading architects and designers met last week in a final round of judging to decide the winners of the Dezeen Awards 2022, ahead of the Dezeen Awards winners' party in London next month.

The Dezeen Awards master jury took place at hotel One Hundred Shoreditch in London and included architects and interior designers Tosin Oshinowo, India Mahdavi and Dara Huang, among others.

Architectural photographer Simone Bossi, fashion designer Mary Katrantzou, and designers Jeremy Offer and Lara Bohinc also joined to finalise the 50 award winners.

Winners will be announced in November

Winners will be announced next month at a Dezeen Awards party in London at the end of November.

The master jury discussed 240 shortlisted entries selected from 5,400 projects and studios from over 90 countries around the globe.

Judges also included Annette Fisher and Paloma Strelitz

Joining Sharjah Architecture Triennial curator Oshinowo on the architecture master jury panel were British-Nigerian architect Annette Fisher and multi-disciplinary studio Assemble co-founder ​​Paloma Strelitz.

Lore Group creative director and One Hundred Shoreditch designer Jacu Strauss, Studiopepe co-founder Chiara Di Pinto and London-based fashion designer Katrantzou were on the interiors master jury panel.

They were joined by Design Haus Liberty founder Huang and French architect and designer Mahdavi.

The design master jury panel included Arrival chief design officer Offer and London-based curator and writer Meneesha Kellay.

Naomi Davenport, head of programme and content at London Craft Week and Bohinc of Bohinc Studio also joined.

Sustainable design and author Babette Porcelijn, Dodds & Shute co-founder Nick Shute and co-founder of Cornish design company Green&Blue Gavin Christman formed the sustainability master jury panel.

The Dezeen Awards 2022 sustainability categories are sponsored by Google and Dodds & Shute.

Digital artist Andrés Reisinger and A Vibe Called Tech founder Charlene Prempeh were a part of the media master jury panel.

They were joined by Italian architectural photographer Bossi and We Present editor-in-chief Holly Fraser.

An exclusive judges dinner took place on the night of the master jury day in the One Hundred Room at One Hundred Shoreditch, where the master jury was joined by other Dezeen Awards judges past and present including Ilse Crawford, Suhair Khan, Alex Holloway and Na Li.

One Hundred Shoreditch will host the winners' party

The next big date in the Dezeen Awards calendar is the culmination of this year's programme – the Dezeen Awards winners' party.

This dazzling event will also be held at One Hundred Shoreditch at the end of November when Dezeen Awards winners will be able to collect their unique trophy designed by Atelier NL.

The party will be a chance for everyone who was shortlisted in Dezeen Awards or who judged the entries to celebrate and network.
