Slack
by Studio O+A

Shortlisted for large workspace interior of the year at Dezeen Awards 2019, Slack's new headquarters by Studio O+A were designed to represent different landscapes across each of the ten floors.

The Slack Headquarters is located within a 16-year-old building in the downtown district, near gleaming new skyscrapers such as the Salesforce Tower by Pelli Clarke Pelli and The Avery by OMA.

Located within a 16-year-old building in San Francisco’s downtown district, deserts, forests and mountain peaks inspired the design of tech company’s office, which is meant to embody the similarities between hiking a wilderness trail and working.

The space features a variety of spatial stimuli - a network of “trails” composed of work spaces, meeting rooms, private nests and unexpected vistas. To replicate indoors the distinctly outdoor experience of the Pacific Crest Trail, Studio O+A chose a succession of finishes and palettes that subtly suggest changing landscapes.
