Giles Nartey

Giles Tettey Nartey is a British-Ghanaian designer, researcher, and architect.

Nartey integrates filmmaking, installation, performance, and design into his practice, which is rooted in West African culture. Alongside his PhD at the Bartlett School of Architecture Nartey teaches at the University, as well as the Architectural Association School of Architecture.

Last year the British-Ghanaian architect presented a communal bench which doubles as a West African game board as part of a POOR Collective exhibition at the London Design Festival.

In 2023, the designer earned recognition as a Future Icon by Wallpaper* and was celebrated by Hypebeast for having one of the Best Furniture designs. In 2018, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) acknowledged him as a Black Architect of Tomorrow. Nartey's designs have been showcased at Seoul Biennale and the London Design Festival.
