Winner: Education project of the year 2025. Atelier L+ and Tongji Architectural Design (Group) have collaborated on the design of the Yijia Building at Tongji University, the students' activity centre on the Jiading Campus in Shanghai, China.
This project is situated at the southeast end of Tongji University's Jiading Campus, adjacent to the teaching and dormitory areas, facing the lakeside lawn to the southwest.

The overall design combines a podium and a tower, becoming a landmark on the east side of the campus's south entrance axis and echoing the library on the west side, thus improving the overall spatial form and layout of the campus.

The design adopts the concept of "roaming the vertical campus" to connect the low-rise and high-rise building spaces.

A series of ramps, stairs, corridors and terraced Spaces surrounding and running through the interior and exterior of the building becomes the core of the spatial organisation.

Walking and wandering from the underground space to the roof garden at the highest point of the building forms a three-dimensional continuous spatial sequence that is scattered like Chinese gardens and landscape paintings.
