Amanda Levete

Architect Amanda Levete is the director and founder of A_LA.

Levete's practice seeks to establish balance between the built and natural environments. Her designs – typically characterised by soft and flowing forms – often focus on how buildings transform and connect with their surroundings, conceiving them as what she terms as "urban propositions".

She has received numerous recognitions for her work, including the Stirling Prize and in 2017 she was awarded a CBE for services to architecture.

Recent projects include designs for the UK's first government-backed fusion power plant, a collaboration with Anish Kapoor on an underground station in Naples and a red glass panoramic extension to Paisley Museum.
