Ilse Crawford

British designer Ilse Crawford is founder of multidisciplinary London-based interior design studio StudioIlse.

Crawford's work ranges from houses to hotels and community projects that aim to create spaces which bring people together. Landmark projects include Soho House New York, the Ett Hem hotel in Stockholm and the first Aesop store in London. She has also designed collections for brands including IKEA and Zanat.

She is a leading advocate of systemic wellbeing design, launching a well-being magazine (BARE) and completing projects such as the Anna Freud Centre in London.

Crawford founded the department of Man and Wellbeing at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where she was head for 21 years and was launch editor of Elle Decoration UK.

She has published three books about her design philosophy and was profiled on the Netflix documentary series Abstract: The Art of Design.

Crawford holds an MBE and CBE for services to design and an Honorary Doctorate from the London College of Communication, University of Arts London.
