German designer Sebastian Herkner is founder of design practice Studio Sebastian Herkner.

Herkner is known for his innovative product and furniture design, collaborating with notable brands such as Poltrona Frau, Pulpo and Gan. Recent projects include designing curved paper lampshades for German brand Midgard Licht.

Recognised globally, Herkner was named designer of the year for Maison&Objet in 2019 and was awarded the Elle Décor International Design Award (EDIDA) in 2021 for best international designer.

Last year, the designer was a mentor for the second Rimowa Design Prize, a competition championing student designers in Germany.
