Laurids Gallée
Rotterdam-based designer Laurids Gallée creates collectible lighting and furniture designs that prioritise artistic expression over conventional functionality.
Before founding his practice in 2017, Gallée honed his craft, experimenting with new techniques and materials, which became central to his playful design approach.
He fuses contemporary manufacturing processes with traditional craftsmanship to create unconventional designs using two primary mediums: wood and resin. The Austrian designer recently unveiled a collection of giant resin lights that builds upon a decade of his material research.
Gallée has garnered significant recognition in the industry, featured in AD100 and named emerging designer of the year by Elle Decor, which led to collaborations with fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana and galleries Objects With Narratives in Brussels and Collectional in Dubai.
